Many people ask just what components go into making up a water turbine, while the VAWT Hales Turbine design is very simple concept, to harvest energy from the flowing rivers and tidal flows, it still takes many parts to construct.
Below is a layout of the components used to assemble the 1MX1M micro-generation unit ( excluding the internal ducting joiners and the assembly nuts/ bolts etc).
All the parts are formed in stainless steel with close cell foam in some parts to add bouyancy and rigidity. Whole units can be assembled by two people in less than half a day.
