NEW PRODUCT FROM MINI WATER TURBINE DEVELOPMENT

Following on from detail design and development work on a simple in-line Ducted turbine, commissioned by a major water company, that could be installed within a section of 150mm (6"inch) round pipe potable water delivery system from a low head reservoir supplying a pair of villages etc,  Hales Water Turbines is now planning to market this form of mini turbine.

This mini Hales Turbine will have a fully encapsulated rotor system within a stainless steel Ducted chamber, with the 150mm (6"inch) entry and discharge pipes, total overall length of 1000mm and fitted with a 250 watt DC generator complete with a planetary gearbox.
This turbine unit will operate in any water delivery pipe-work from a low head of 3metres and higher and allowing a simple 6"-8" piped water delivery system  to provide a good amount of battery charging to many 12 volt storage systems and locations around the world, such as remote homes in Canada and Alaska etc.
A 3m test rig is also being constructed and as well as producing the turbine efficiency charts will enable all units to be tested before shipment.

Also being considered is a slightly larger contra-rotational Hales Turbine unit, still 1000mm in length but with 300mm (12" dia ) entry and discharge pipe-work and  a 500 watt or 1KW generator systems in 12 or 24 volt range.
