Prince Charles has evoked parallels with the Magna Carta in his call for the private sector to become involved in building a recovery plan for the World.
Strange, as the Magna Carta was a way forward only for the Barons and Free men of England at the time , probably only ten percent of the population while the majority of peoples stay down in the mud, but the direction called for in the new Terra Carta ( EARTH CHARTER) is a clear call to all to both understand the needs of the world and for all to work forwards for a sustainable and stable world.
The Prince has also been involved with Marine Energy in the past through the Duchy of Cornwall which has tidal waters areas on the west side of the River Tamar. Hales Water Turbines Ltd was asked in 2015 by energy consultants hired by the Duchy to inspect and give their opinions on the potential of Tidal Stream Generation from the ebb and flows while considering the busy working life of the river.
Any incentive that awakens the public and the private sector to the needs of a green world must be supported and two of the greatest challenges that need to be addressed are:
(1) CUT THE RED
TAPE, support and allow the many energy
system developers to offer big, wide ranging solutions, then work through the problems
after, don't price the solutions first before knowing if they work.
(2) Bring together the three arms of the Marine Energy World, the energy system developers, the major marine operators, lead by the fishing communities and finally the Environmental community, These three points of the Trident are needed to direct the UK government to a fully Zero Carbon, 100% renewable future.
