HALES TURBINE HEADS TO MARKET

Hales Energy Ltd believe the patent Hales Turbine design will be suitable to operate in three distinct areas, Micro-generation in the  2-5Kw range in a ducted  modular form,   mid range Commercial units up to 100 Kw's , the size planned for the new Thames Barrier Project, then of course, off shore Ocean Units.

Because of the great deal of interest already shown from many places both abroad and the UK in our 1.5 Kw ducted Hales Turbine unit, which was constructed to carry out detailed performance and fish friendly testing on the tidal River Thames.
Hales Energy Ltd  are now programming to manufacture and market similar modular ducted units in two sizes to cover the micro generation needs.    These will be offered as  base  units, to which extras such as entry grills, duct facets to increase the water entry flow and venturi effect, an option in cyclic gearboxes and electrical generators or pumps etc can then be added to allow a customer to adapt the installation for their own needs. Turbine and ducting will be constructed in stainless steel for both saltwater and  ROR applications..

Several detailed Hales Turbine prototype units have also been constructed like the stainless steel carrier unit shown above, which are being used to design and investigate/develop the best blade shapes and configurations for the Hales Turbine in its various forms.
This work is being carried out in the special water flow tanks at UCL University. London and the testing will be completed by Sept 2012
